How I got started ....
I've been writing since I was in elementary school! I did my first newsletter in the 6th grade. I've written throughout my life - professionally - scientific journal articles, my own workbook for classes I was teaching, training materials, marketing materials, poetry and so much more.
I've just finished my first children's book in my series "A girl and her dog" and it is now for sale in eBook format, paperback, and hard copy. The girl represents me, the author, and the dog is based on my loyal companion of over 11 years - Lightning.
While working on this series, I realized what a great gift it is to give a child a book where they are the main character. They love it as a child and will appreciate it as a keepsake when they are adults.
